Tesco today waded into the clothes price war as it was revealed a ?15 suit is going on sale at the store next week.
The supermarket giant has matched the bargain-basement price offered by rival Asda for a similar suit in January.
Tesco's ultra-budget suit comes in black or grey and is 100 per cent polyester.
But it may well appeal to cash-strapped families as the credit crunch continues to bite.

Tesco's clothing chief Terry Green said: 'Many of our customers will be trying to look their best on a budget. This suit represents great value for money.'
Asda's move earlier this year - cutting the price of its 'Milan-inspired' suit by ?10 at a stroke - was followed last month by Marks & Spencer, which slashed the cost of selected Men's Suits to ?
Tesco's cut is just one of a whole round of price cuts announced by fashion stores and supermarkets this summer to try to head off a High Street recession.
